More than 200 workers of different students’ organisation including All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU) along with local residents on Wednesday blocked the National Highway 31 for an hour at Balajan under Golakganj police station in Dhubri district against the brutal murder of a seven-year-old child of the area.

The protesters demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.  Anisur Rahman, a student of Gyan Jyoti Academy went missing on October 11 from Balajan area while he was returning home from his school.

His body was recovered on Tuesday (October 16) from Kalahat area, which is one kilometre from his home, under Dhubri police station.

Sabiur Ali, the father of the child filed a missing complaint at Golakganj police station immediately after the incident on October 16, but police failed to trace the child.

The father of the child in the FIR mentioned one Mokser Ali’s name as a prime accused of the case. The accused Mokser Ali is a relative of the deceased family.

Police said that investigation is underway and accused involved in the case will be arrested very soon.
