The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway rescued four children from different stations on December 13.
Among the rescued children, was one minor girl, who was rescued from Kamakhya Railway station.

On the other hand, three run-away minor boys were rescued from Rangiya Railway station.
Two persons suspected to be involved in human trafficking were also apprehended in connection with the rescue.
“On December 13, while Constable AC Gautam of RPF Post, Kamakhya was performing duty at Kamakhya railway station, noticed 2 boys along with one girl moving suspiciously at Platform No 2/3. He immediately informed the matter to duty officer ASI NC Baishya, who along with other staff attended and enquired them. During interrogation, the girl aged about 16 years disclosed her name and address as a resident of Bheluadanga village under Helem police station in Sonitpur district of Assam,” NF Railway said in a statement on Friday.

“She further revealed that she had come along with the 2 boys without telling her parents from Biswanath Charialli by bus and reached Kamakhya station for onward journey to Bangalore,” the statement added.
The two arrested boys have been identified as Jivan Acharya (20 years) and Khemraj Acharya (24 years).
Both the arrested boys are brothers hailing from Tinsukia district in Assam.
“Jivan Acharya stated that on being called by the girl, he along with his brother proceeded to Biswanath Charialli by bus where the girl had been waiting for them. Thereafter, they all travelled to Guwahati by bus for further journey to Bangalore by train,” NFR said.
Meanwhile, all the them have been handed over to IC/GRP/Kamakhya for necessary action.

In another incident on same day, RPF at Rangiya railway station received information from Security Control that three minor boys were travelling without their guardian in train No.15613 DN (Lachit Express) towards Rangiya.
On getting the information, a team of RPF, Rangiya attended the train at Rangiya railway station and detected the three minor boys aged 13 years, 10 years and 11 years of Buragohain Than village of Tangla town in Udalguri district of Assam.
On interrogation, it could be learnt that they had fled away from their home.
Later, the rescued boys were handed over to Child Line Kamrup, Assam for safe custody and further course of action.
It may be mentioned here that the RPF rescued 599 persons including minor children and women during January to November this year.

Meanwhile, 76 persons were also rescued from being trafficked.
“All of them were rescued from trains and stations in different operations conducted over NF Railway. RPF also apprehended 22 persons during this period who were involved in human trafficking,” NFR said.
