Normalcy limping back to Dhula in Darrang district as indefinite curfew clamp down in the area was withdrawn on Friday. Darrang Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kr Barman by an order has withdrawn curfew from the area since this morning.

Indefinite curfew was clamped down on Dhula, a small on Wednesday after a man was killed when police opened fire on a mob protesting the alleged custodial death of another person. Earlier on Thursday afternoon curfew was relaxed for three hours.

Local shops and business establishments were opened today. Narnarayan Nath, Additional District Magistrate conducting the magisterial inquiry into the incident has started recording statements of the witnesses in the Pub Mangaldai Development Block office campus in Dhula.

Nath on Friday recorded statements of two witnesses. According to an official notification issued here statements of the witnesses will be recorded further on Jan 16,17,18 and 19 next at the office of Darrang Deputy Commissioner everyday  in between 10-30 am and 1-30 pm
