The Left Front led by CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Assam Assembly Elections date announcement remark. 

On February 22, PM Narendra Modi, while addressing an election rally in Assam’s Dhemaji had said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce election dates for the Assam Legislative Assembly in the first week of March. 

Following this statement from PM Narendra Modi, the Left Front has come out all guns blazing questioning PM Narendra Modi over his remarks. 

CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury has questioned PM Modi over his remarks on announcement of likely election dates to the Assam Legislative Assembly by the ECI. 

Questioning PM Narendra Modi over his statement, Sitaram Yechury said the Election Commission is an independent authority under Article 324 of our Constitution. 

Sitaram Yechury said, “EC is an independent authority under Article 324 of our Constitution. Why is Modi making these announcements?”
