Amit Shah made this shocking statement while addressing a public meeting at Batadrawa in Nagaon district of Assam.

Amit Shah said: “To make Congress win, agitators are contesting under different names to cut into BJP‘s votes. Their aim is to make Congress win. This statement by the Union Home Minister is being looked into by many as an ‘insult’ to all those who have been vehemently opposing the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Assam.

Notably, the Lurin Jyoti Gogoi-led Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dal are the two new regional parties in Assam that were born out of anti-CAA demonstrations in Assam last year.
