New Delhi is likely to raise the issue of illegal Bangladeshi migrants with the visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasiana on Saturday.

Hasina arrived in New Delhi on Thursday on a four-day visit.

Government sources said that as many as 10 bilateral agreements are likely to be signed between the two countries after the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hasina.

The much hyped Modi-Hasina meeting will take place on Saturday.

Hasina will also be the chief guest in the India Economic Summit which is being organised by the World Economic Forum on October 3 and 4.

This visit of Hasina assumes significance given the fact that the visit is taking place at a time when India is upfront over the reported presence of “illegal foreigners” mainly from Bangladesh.

The Indian side, according to the sources, will specially highlight this particular issue of illegal migrants with Bangladesh delegation.

On the other hand, Bangladesh will raise Teesta water sharing issue.

Significantly, Modi during his recent meeting with Hasina in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting said that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not have any impact on the relation between both the countries.

Hasina will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
