GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory indicating heavy rainfall forecasted for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on Tuesday (March 26).

Additionally, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim.

The IMD’s alert serves as a precautionary measure for residents and authorities in these regions, urging them to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to mitigate any potential risks associated with heavy rainfall.

For the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, the forecast of heavy rainfall raises concerns over possible disruptions to daily activities, transportation, and potential flooding in low-lying areas.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and avoid venturing into areas prone to flooding during this period.

In contrast, areas expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim, may also experience localized disruptions due to inclement weather conditions.

While the intensity of rainfall may be lower in these regions compared to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, it is still essential for residents to exercise caution and stay prepared for any adverse weather events.

It is advisable for residents in the mentioned regions to stay informed through official weather bulletins and alerts provided by the IMD and local authorities.

Additionally, individuals should avoid traveling unnecessarily during heavy rainfall and adhere to safety guidelines to minimize any potential risks posed by the adverse weather conditions.
