Training for polling personnel begins at Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council.

Imphal: The first batch of polling personnel in connection to the ensuing 18th General Elections to the Lok Sabha, 2024 commenced their training programme at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi District of Manipur.

The training aims to equip all the polling personnel with the necessary knowledge to execute responsibility effectively.

Altogether, 120 polling personnel attended the first day of the training.

A total of 1,137 polling personnel — 651 females and 486 males will undergo the training programme till the 29 of this month.

The training, given under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO), primarily focuses on the crucial role of Presiding Officers in ensuring smooth and efficient conduct in the elections.

A four-day training programme for the polling personnel commenced on Monday in Kangpokpi District Headquarters in connection to the ensuing 18th General Elections to the Lok Sabha, 2024.

Nodal Officer for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) Management, Lamminial Simte (Deputy DEO/SDO, T. Waichong) interacted with the polling personnel regarding the familiarization process of Mock Polls.

He also made the polling personnel understand the importance of Polling Agents & Micro Observers and their roles in maintaining transparency as well as to curb the malpractices during the polling process.

Meanwhile, Hemant Kumar (IAS), AC to DC,  LM Len Singsit (EO/SDO Champhai), Md. Hefajuddin (SDO, K.Geljang & Bungte Chiru) and Samuel Misao (SDO, Lhungtim) also gave training to the trainees.
