While grief-stricken India continues to mourn the death of 44 CRPF jawans who were killed in Pulwama attack in Jammu & Kashmir, Suparna Das, the wife of Sepoy Bablu Das, who had a close shave on February 14, expressed the harrowing moments she had passed on the day of terror attack.
Sepoy Bablu Das, who hails from Budhurail under Cachar district of Assam, was also a part of the 70-vehicle CRPF convoy moving out for their next destination.
Bablu Das was also scheduled to travel in the ill-fated vehicle, but, to quench his thirst, and in search of water, had to board the last vehicle on that day.
His wife Suparna Das, having learnt about the incident through news that were being aired across all the channels, tried calling her husband’s number but couldn’t get a reply back from him.
In the ensuing melee, Suparna Das’ palpitation grew higher, only to calm in the evening, when, Sepoy Bablu Das informed that he had a close shave but got angry for losing his fellow jawans in arms.
Suparna Das still has a worried look on her face but wants revenge for what happened on February 14 last.
Talking to Northeast Now, Suparna Das informed, “When we heard about the news, all of us were passing through horrible moments for not getting any call from him. Only after he called later in the evening, I heaved a sigh of relief, but I’m still worried recalling the situation.”
“He informed me as to what happened and was in great pain for losing his colleagues. My husband describing as to what happened, said that, he was in the back end of the convoy and had he been in the front, would have been dead too,” said Suparna Das.
She added, “My husband was lucky but rest others were not. I am still trying to come out of it and pray to God for giving strength to the families who have lost their near and dear ones. I want the government of India to take revenge as early as possible.”
