A large number of ladies decked in traditional ‘mekhela chador’ enthusiastically participated in a 10 km running event on Sunday morning.

The event ‘Temple 2 Temple Run’ began from Nabagraha Shamshan Kali Temple and ended at Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.

Women of different age groups participated in the third edition of the ‘Temple 2 Temple Run’ that began at 5.30 am on Sunday.

Former supermodel Milind Soman flagged off the event which is held with an aim to promote fitness among women.

The event themed as ‘Run like a Goddess’ ended in Kamakhya Temple at 8 am on Sunday.

The objective behind choosing this powerful theme is to encourage women to display their strength that is so significantly portrayed by the Mother Goddess.

The run was organized by the Pinkathon team.

It may be mentioned that Pinkathon aims to create awareness about breast cancer among women.

This year, the Pinkathon race will be held in Guwahati on November 17.

The race is categorized in four group including three km, five km, 10 km and 21 km.

Registrations for the event are going on.
