A student of Gauhati University was allegedly harassed by two employees of a catering company inside the Guwahati-Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express.

As per reports, the incident happened when the train was running between Sivasagar and Dibugarh.

The two employees of the catering company have been identified as Mohammad Sakir and Mohammad Aftab.

As per the allegations, the employees of the catering company, who were found to be in an inebriated state, harassed the student and her mother by repeatedly asking them to order for meals despite their refusal.

As the train reached Dibrugarh, the student and her mother filed a complaint with the railway police following which both the accused were arrested.

The officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) said that the two accused persons were not railway staff but works in a private firm – M/S Krishna Enterprises – which is engaged in supplying meals inside the train.
