GIPS Guwahati and GIMT Guwahati on Tuesday observed their 15th and 16th foundation day respectively.
The foundation day of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS) Guwahati and Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) Guwahati began with the flag hoisting by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society (SSAS) president Ratul Das.
After the flag hoisting, the SSA president delivered his welcome speech.
GIMT Guwahati Principal Dr. Thuleswar Nath and GIPS Guwahati Principal (in-charge) Dr. Dipankar Saha delivered speeches highlighting the journey of the institutes.
Cultural events were also conducted on the occasion.

Faculty members and students of both institutes participated in the cultural programme.
Founded on September 7, 2007, the aim of GIPS Guwahati since its inception has been to produce professionals who could maximize the health of the public by advancing patient care and facilitating the discovery, understanding and cost-effective use of drugs.

GIMT Guwahati was established on September 7, 2006 as the first non-governmental engineering institute in Assam under the patronage of the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society (SSAS).
Ever since its inception, the institute’s aim has been not just to produce competent professionals but also excellent human beings contributing to the welfare of society.

GIPS Guwahati began its operations in 2007 as the first non-government pharmaceutical institute in Assam.
The pharmaceutical institute was established to help the society and its youth progress through education.
GIPS Guwahati aims to establish a morally sound education system that not only produces competent professionals, but also excellent human beings contributing towards the welfare of the society.
GIMT Guwahati was founded in 2006 as the first non-governmental engineering institute in Assam to make significant contribution to the social upliftment through education and to inculcate among the youth a sense of discipline.
