A two-week-long faculty development programme on ‘Innovative Teaching Methods and Application of statistical software in Advance Research in Science and Technology’ successfully concluded at GIPS Guwahati.
The faculty development programme was started in the premises of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS) Guwahati at Azara on August 19 and concluded on Wednesday.
The programme, conducted by the GIPS Guwahati and held at the seminar hall of the institute, was sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
According to the organisers, the programme started with an offline test conducted to assess the productiveness of the programme, followed by a technical session by Prof. Alak Kumar Buragohain, chairperson (academic), Royal Global University, Assam, and former Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University.
The valedictory session was presided over by Ratul Das, president, Shrimanta Shankar Academy (SSA) Society, Guwahati.
Prof. Gouranga Das, Principal, GIPS Guwahati, delivered the keynote address about the faculty development programme.
A total of twenty-three technical sessions were conducted in the FDP.
The keynote speakers were Prof. Ajay B Kunnumakkara from IIT-Guwahati, Dr. Mukulesh Barua, Member Secretary, SLET Commission, Assam and Northeast; Prof. Kishore K Das, Gauhati University and Dr. Tamil Vanan, Associate Professor, NIPER-Guwahati; Dr. Amit Alexander, Associate Professor, NIPER-Guwahati and many others from different renowned universities of this region.
The speakers shared their knowledge on innovative teaching methods and the application of different statistical software in advanced research.
The coordinator of the Faculty Development Program, Dr. Dipankar Saha, Associate Professor GIPS-Guwahati delivered the vote of thanks.
He expressed his gratitude to AICTE, New Delhi for the financial grant for conducting the FDP.
The certificates of participation were presented to the participants.
