The mastermind of the Assam Police SI recruitment scam, former DIG, PK Dutta has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
Dutta was in CID custody for the last six days since October 7.

It has been learnt that the retired DIG has been suffering from cardiac problem and his oxygen level has dropped.
On Tuesday, Dutta’s daughter appealed to the court to allow supply of medicines from home and on the basis of her plea, the court has given permission in this regard.

Dutta was arrested by West Bengal Police on Tuesday from Kakarbhitta along the Indo-Nepal border.
On Monday, BJP leader Diban Deka, one of the prime accused in the case of Assam Police SI recruitment scam, was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

On Monday, the CID quizzed both PK Dutta and Diban Deka face-to-face and which Deka was produced before the court.
Meanwhile, 3 persons including Rupam Das, Tarinikanta Banikya and Pradip Kumar, who were arrested from Bongaigaon and Manjit Bora, who was arrested from Kahilipara, for their involvement in the case, have been remanded to 5-day police custody.
So far 47 people have been arrested for their involvement in the SI question paper leak case.
