In his FIR, Gogoi said “on January 22, 2020, one person namely Durllov Nath uploaded one morphed” photograph through his Facebook at about 5.31 pm, where the “uniform of Chief of the Air Staff” is used and his (Gogoi) face has been joined in it to “defame” him.
“The same photograph is being circulated by Rahul Ds via url – https://www.facebook.com/groups/1725049991056922/permalink/2893216200906956/ and by Shruti Choudhuri via url – https:/www.facebook.com/story.php?story-fbid=495386411410110 & id=100028162663755 to various groups and individuals,” he stated.
Stating that the photograph is “objectionable” and the act is “violation of the principles of Air Force of the country”, Gogoi said “this is an act of serious disregard and defamation towards the uniform of the highest active service rank of Indian Air Force”.

He also mentioned that “such type of disregard towards the uniform may cause serious damage” to the morale of the entire “Air Force community as well as all the defence organizations of the country”.
“Also it may cause a serious threat to the dignity, security and sovereignty of the country,” the ex-IAF officer said.
Stating that the photograph has gone viral on Facebook now, Gogoi demanded the arrest of the three persons – Durllov Nath, Rahul Das and Shruti Choudhuri.
He said “if the culprits Durllov Nath and his associates Rahul Das and Shruti Choudhuri are not arrested immediately” and the morphed photograph is not stopped from being circulated, “it may cause severe damage to the country as well as to the moral of the entire India Air Force of the Union of India”.
He requested the officer-in-charge of Panbazar police station to take immediate action to safeguard the dignity of Indian Air Force and Union of India.
Himangshui Gogoi recently came into headlines by challenging Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to face him saying that he knows “better English” than the minister.
Gogoi reacted after minister Sarma said he is not afraid of “Junior Gogoi” as he had faced “Middle Gogoi” and “Senior Gogoi” without fear.
