A retired ACS officer just got promoted overnight.

Yes. Retired Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer, Rajiv Prakash Barua, has just become additional chief secretary.

The invitation letter issued to the media by Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Pragjyotish College mentioned Rajiv Prakash Baruah as the additional chief secretary to the government of Assam.

“Shri Rajiv Prakash Baruah, Additional Chief Secretary, government of Assam has kindly consented to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest,” said the invitation letter, addressed to the media house partner.

It may be mentioned here that Rajiv Prakash Baruah retired as additional secretary to the government of Assam on September 30, 2018.

Baruah was also officiating as the director, Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Assam.

Post-retirement he was appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Information and Public Relations Department on special consideration.

Baruah was also appointed in the same rank as the additional secretary.

The invitation letter was signed by Dr. Manjit Kr. Mazumdar, coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Pragjyotish College.
