Darrang Police on Wednesday night arrested two youths with arms from Kharpurihabi village under Dalgaon police station of the district.
Police officials said acting on an input, a search operation was carried out in the village and two youths were nabbed with a 7.65 mm pistol and a magazine.
The arrested youths have been identified as Diganta Kalita, 37, a resident of Golma Chock under Udalguri police station and Sabed Ali, 35, a resident of Dhansirikash village under Dhula police station in Darrang district.
Police have registered a case (no 295/19) under section 25 (1-A) of the Arms Act in Dalgaon police station.
The duo were sent to 14-day judicial custody on Thursday by a local court.
