COVID19 Assam update 1

While the number of COVID19 positive cases increased to 1,390 in Assam on Monday, a total of patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from 7 hospitals across the state on the day.

Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet in the evening on Monday said the patients were discharged after they tested negative for COVID19 twice.

The health minister informed that a total of 46 patients, who recovered from the disease, were discharged from the COVID19 hospital at Kalapahar in Guwahati and 22 patients were discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar in the city.

A total of 13 COVID19 patients were discharged from Tezpur Medical College Hospital (TMCH), 7 were discharged from Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH), 2 were discharged from Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barepta.

One each patient has been discharged from the Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) and Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH).

With the newly-discharged patients, the total number of COVID19 cases discharged from the hospitals in Assam has risen to 277.

Assam currently has 1,106 active COVID19 cases.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.
