COVID19 Assam update

Assam has registered 6 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,390.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on Monday said the new COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Sivasgar, Charaideo, and Nagaon districts.

The health minister said 4 persons have tested positive for COVID19 in Charaideo district, 1 case has been detected in Sivasagar district and another case has been detected in Nagaon district.

“Alert ~ 6 new cases of #COVID19+. 4 Charaideo, 1 Sivasagar, 1 Nagaon,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam now stands at 1,198.

Earlier, a total of 185 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their complete recovery.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.

On Monday, the state has registered 29 so far.

“Total cases 1390. Recovered 185. Active cases 1198. Deaths 04,” Sarma said.

According to the latest data by the Union Health Ministry, the number of cases has surged to 1,90,535 in the country while the death toll has increased to 5,394.

Of the total number of COVID19 cases, the country currently has 93,322 active cases while 91,819 people have been discharged from the hospitals after their recovery.
