Just a couple of days after several teachers at the prestigious Don Bosco School in Guwahati tested positive for COVID-19, 2 more schools in the city have also reportedly recorded COVID-19 positive cases.

After Don Bosco School, two more schools in Guwahati – Marias Public School and Holy Child School have also reportedly registered COVID-19 positive cases.

As per reports, one student of the Holy Child School has tested positive for COVID-19.

On the other hand, COVID-19 cases have also been detected at the Marias Public School.

Parents of a student of the Marias Public School have tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, amid surge in COVID-19 cases, parents have expressed apprehensions over conduct of examinations in offline mode.

Fearing a second wave of COVID-19, parents in Guwahati are now seeking online mode of exams for their wards.

Authorities of Holy Child School has decided to change exam mode to online following requests made by the parents of students.

On February 22, Don Bosco School in Guwahati was declared a containment zone after the school’s teachers were positive for COVID-19.

Annual exams in offline mode had started in Don Bosco School only a few days ago, but soon after the infection was confirmed on Saturday, all activities in the school were put on hold.

On Monday, Dibrugarh University’s Dr Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Studies in Performing Arts was declared a containment zone after two female students of the department tested positive for COVID-19.
