Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday informed that the condition of a COVID-19 patient from Hailakandi is critical and his oxygen saturation is decreasing.

Sarma further informed the patient’s other parameters are stable and that he is being shifted to ICU of Silchar Medical College and Hospital )SMCH) for better monitoring.

“Alert – The condition of the 28th case (from Hailakandi) of COVID-19 from Assam is alarming, though his other parameters are stable his oxygen saturation is decreasing. Shifting to ICU of SMCH for better monitoring,” Sarma twitted.

 

So far 28 persons from Assam have tested positive for COVID-19 and this is the first case where the condition of a patient has been stated as critical.

The first COVID-19 patient from Assam was a 52-year-old man from Badarpur in Karimganj district and he had visited Nizamuddin in Delhi.

Reports said that the person is a diabetic and a cancer patient.
