The Assam government will recruit around 11000 teachers before Bohaag Bihu, said state education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the Legisltaive Assembly on Thursday.

“New recruitments will be made in LP schools and we aim to appoint around 11000 TET qualified teachers in LP schools within a month,” Sarma said.

“Even though two cases are pending at the High Court, however, we are sure of winning them and after that the recruitment process of 11000 teachers begin,” he added.

“We also aim to fill in around 322 vaccant positions in various colleges of Assam within the next Assembly elections,” Sarma further said.

The minister also informed that the dates for the TET examinations for HS teachers will be announced soon.
