Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president  Hagrama Mohilary on Monday filed nomination for the BTC poll.

Mohilary was accompanied by thousands of his supporters as he filed the nomination paper before the Returning Officer.

Apart from Mohilary, BPF candidate from Banargaon constituency Rajib Brahma, Doneshwar Gayari from Baokhungri and Derhasat Basumatry from Salakati constituencies also filed their nomination papers.

Talking to the media Mohilary expressed confident and said that BPF will return to power for the fourth consecutive term.

“We expect to win 25-30 seats out of the 40 seats and the BJP- AGP-BPF alliance will return to power,” Mohilary said.

Mohilary further said that the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) will also put up a strong fight in the election.

BTC election will be held on April 4 and results will be declared on April 8.
