While Assam is caught in a whirlpool of political turmoil, reports of creation of Bodoland Union Territory has taken the social media by a storm.
Apparently, preparations are already on for the creation of the Bodoland Union Territory and a series of steps have already been undertaken.
As per reports, Kokrajhar will be divided into two districts- Kokrajhar and Gosaigaon while Baksa will be divided into two parts- Baksa and Manas.
Bhergaon will be carved out from Udalguri and two new districts will be carved out from Sonitpur, Biswanath and Lakhimpur and they will be named as Mainoshree and Holongi.
It has also been reported that proposed Bodoland Union Territory will have an inner line permit (ILP) system and it will be a member of the North East Council (NEC).
People will have land rights according to Article 371 (G) of the Constitution.
It has also been reported that the new UT will get funds directly from the Centre.
