Guwahati: A woman was arrested in Margherita of Tinsukia, Assam on Thursday for allegedly murdering her five-year-old son.
According to reports, the accused has been identified as Supriya Bhattacharya.

She was charged with the alleged murder of her son, Abhimanyu Chakraborty.

The minor was reported missing during Durga Puja last week.

Following the incident, the parents approached the police and filed a complaint.
However, on Monday, the body of a child was found near the banks of the Buridihing River which was later identified to be Abhimanyu.

After investigation, the woman was suspected of being involved in the incident.
Police detained Supriya and later arrested her.
The police are further investigating the incident and the possibilities behind the suspected crime.
