Guwahati: Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Guwahati on Thursday for questioning in connection with the alleged promotion of illegal IPL match streaming on the Mahadev betting application.

According to sources, Bhatia arrived in Guwahati with her parents around 1:25 PM after being summoned by the investigating agency.

While her father joined her inside for questioning, her mother stayed in the car outside. The interrogation lasted more than five hours, but the specifics of her case have not been released.

This is the second time the actress has faced scrutiny over her involvement with the Mahadev betting app.

In April, she was summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for allegedly promoting IPL matches on the FairPlay app, a subsidiary of Mahadev.

The Mahadev betting app scandal has garnered significant attention, with authorities investigating a scam worth an estimated Rs 15,000 crore.

The app allegedly streamed IPL matches illegally without permission from Viacom 18, the official broadcaster of the cricket tournament, causing substantial financial losses.

Bhatia was reportedly associated with the FairPlay app, which is known to have caused a Rs 1 crore loss to Viacom. Her endorsement of the app, which is a subsidiary of Mahadev, brought her under investigation.

The Mahadev Betting App scandal involves more than 38 individuals and is linked to a massive financial fraud.

The app, which is accessible on both Android and iOS platforms, offers a wide range of sports and entertainment betting options.
