National Pioneer Junior College, Tangla in Udalguri district bagged the fifth and sixth rank in Commerce stream in HS state board examination, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

Mohan Pradhan bagged the fifth position securing 86 marks in English,91 in Alt. English,90 in Accountancy,98 in Business Studies and 96 in Economics.

He obtained 92.2 per cent by securing 461 out of 500.

He is the son of Late Tez Bahadur Pradhan and Renuka Pradhan a resident of Amlaguri village of Ghagra in Udalguri.

“The hardships my family has endured in paying for my higher studies have inspired me to do good. I studied at an average of 6-8 hours daily. One should study regularly and be consistent.” he said.

He had bagged 20th position in HSLC 2016 examination.

Meanwhile, Vidhi Beria of the same institute has secured sixth position. She got 90 marks in English, 93 in Alt. English, 95 in Accountancy, 91 in Business Studies and 91 in Economics.

She obtained 92 per cent by securing 460 out of 500. She is the daughter of Dilip Kumar Beria and Shilpa Beria a resident of Ward No.3 of Tangla.

“One should focus on their studies along with taking time out for co-curricular activities. The time of study doesn’t matter rather the quality of time is important,” she said.

She said dedication, self-control and hardwork are the key to success.

Both the rank holders aspire to be Chartered Accountants.

The principal of the academy Parvezul Islam said it all in a simple line – hard work and dedication brings the expected results and it is the
effort of both students and teachers which have yielded fruit.

They were feted by various student bodies and organizations including AASU,AAGSU,AKRSU among others.
