As part of their efforts against fake gold sellers’ rackets, the Sonitpur Police conducted another successful operation in the district on Friday.

The operation was conducted at Napam market under Tezpur police station in Assam’s Sonitpur district.

The oepration was led by sub-inspector Bhargab Borbora, in-charge of the Borghat outpost.

After the operation, the police team recovered four fake gold biscuits weighing approximately 1 kg 400 gm.

The fake gold biscuits were recovered from the possession of Kitab Ali, son of Alal Ali, a resident of Kurkani under Tezpur police station, Sonitpur Police wrote on its Twitter handle.

The police nabbed Kitab Ali in connection with the case.

“Further investigation is going on to find out other members of this racket,” Sonitpur Police added.

On Thursday, Sonitpur Police conducted a search operation and recovered a huge cache of ganja.

Sonitpur Police informed that the operation was carried out at the houses of Md. Abu Hussain and his brother Abu Kalam, both are sons of Md. Sarfat Ali, a resident of Amtol Baligaon under Dhekiajuli police station in Sonitpur district.

The operation was carried out on the basis of specific information.

The Sonitpur Police team recovered 16 kg 700 gm and 6 kg 500 gm of ganja respectively.

“Based on reliable source information on Sonitpur Police today conducted search operation at the house of Md. Abu Hussain and his brother namely Abu Kalam both S/O- Md. Sarfat Ali, R/O- Amtol Baligaon under Dhekiajuli PS and recovered 16 kg 700 grms and 6 kg 500 grms of Ganja,” Sonitpur Police tweeted.
