Sivasagar deputy commissioner Dr Lakshmi Priya on Sunday morning ceremonially flagged off a mini marathon in the eastern Assam district.
The mini marathon was organized by Sivasagar police administration to mark the Assam Police Day celebration.

The mini marathon was kick-started from historic Joysagar Tank with huge participation from the police, district administration, students and local public.
The deputy commissioner lauded the efforts of the police department for organizing the mini marathon and said this will have a positive impact on the citizens.
She also said it will inspire them to adopt healthy habits to stay fit.
She also called on the participants to spread mass awareness on the importance of nutrition.
Elaborating upon the activities carried out during the ongoing month-long Rasthiya Poshan Maah in the district, the deputy commissioner called on the participants to play active role in sensitizing people to provide nutritional food to children, adolescent girls and pregnant women and make Poshan Abhiyan a Jana Andolan.
Besides the superintendent of police Amitava Sinha, the programme was also attended by additional superintendent of police (Security) Navin Singh, district social welfare officer Dipali Devi, district sports officer Sanjay Upadhyaya and deputy superintendent of police Subhalakshmi Dutta.
