Assam: Section 144 imposed in Chirang ahead of Holi

With an aim to maintain peace and harmony during Holi/Dol Jatra, Chirang additional district magistrate Karmadev Brahma on Sunday imposed restriction under Section 144 CrPC in the district.

As per the order, restrictions have been imposed in the use and selling of unhygienic and harmful toxic powder and other colour materials etc. during Holi.

The district administration has imposed this prohibitory order to celebrate the Holi/Dol Jatra without causing any trouble.

The order also warned residents of not violating this order as the violators may invite prosecution under Section 188 of the IPC.

The order also stated that any person aggrieved by this order may approach the district authority for exemption or alteration etc.

This order was come into force From Sunday and will remain in force until further order.
