The district administration of Assam’s Karbi Anglong has promulgated Section 144 CrPC banning the use, stocking, distribution or sale of polythene bags in the district which has thickness less than 40 micron.
The ban is put in place as the polythene is polluting the environment.
The district administration has also promulgated 144 CrPC prohibiting the obstruction, picketing or procession in front of offices, public institutions, public places and others.
Carrying of weapons, use or throwing of crackers that may cause breach of peace, forcible demand or collection of donations, shouting of slogans, postering, pillion riding on two wheelers and use of loud speaker microphone without permission are also prohibited.
