Assam reported 86 new Covid19 cases and 1 more death on Sunday, taking the state’s positive tally to 2,11,513 and death toll to 974.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 said the new cases have been detected out of 9,994 tests on Sunday.

Assam’s positivity rate stands at 0.86%, Sarma said.
“86 Cases detected out of 9994 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 0.86%,” Sarma tweeted.
Of the new Covid19 cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported 20 cases.

The health minister informed that a total of 2,07,394 patients have been discharged in the state so far after their recovery from the disease.
He said so far, 98.05% of the total positive cases have recovered in the state.
Assam currently has 3,142 active Covid19 cases, which is 1.48% of the total positive cases.
The state’s death rate stands at 0.46%.
The deadly disease claimed the life of one more Covid19 patient in Assam.
“Sad to share the demise of 1 #COVID patient today,” health minister Sarma said in an earlier tweet on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Bina Baruah (60) of Jorhat.
