Assam reported two more COVID19 deaths on Saturday, taking the death toll to 973.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Saturday said: “Sad to share the demise of 2 #COVID patient today.”

The deceased are from Jorhat and Chirang districts, the health minister said.
The COVID19 victims have been identified as Ranjan Gogoi (52) of Jorhat and Khirubala Barman (65) of Chirang, Sarma informed.
“Condolences to all bereaved families! Om Shanti,” health minister Sarma said.

Assam so far has registered a total of 2,11,427 cases.
The state currently has 3232 active cases and a total of 2,07,219 people have recovered from the disease.
On Friday, Assam registered 164 new Covid19 cases and 2 more deaths.
Till Friday, Assam’s COVID19 death toll stood at 971.
On Friday, Assam’s COVID19 positivitiy rate stood at 0.90%.
Of the new positive cases on Friday, the Kamrup Metro district reported 57 cases.
