Assam reported 28 more Covid19 deaths and 2,375 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday evening said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,34,085 tests.

The chief minister informed that on Saturday, the state’s overall positivity percentage was 1.77%.

Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district registered 168 cases.

Hundreds of other patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered from the infection on Saturday.

The state’s Covid19 recovery rate stood at 94.24%.

“Summary of 03/7/2021 – Today’s Total 2375; Overall Positivity Percentage (2375 cases out of 1,34,085 test done = 1.77%); Kamrup(M) 168;  Death 28; Recovery Rate 94.24%,” chief minister Sarma tweeted.

On Friday, Assam recorded 27 Covid19 deaths and a total of 2,453 new positive cases.

The cases were confirmed out of 1,53,981 tests on Friday.

Assam’s overall positivity percentage was 1.59%.

On Friday, of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district registered a total of 186 cases.

Assam’s recovery rate on Saturday was 94.19%.

Meanwhile, India’s Covid19 vaccination coverage exceeded 35 crore on Saturday while  more than 57.36 lakh vaccine doses were administered on the day till 7 pm, according to the Union health ministry data.

India’s cumulative Covid19 vaccination coverage exceeded 35,05,42,004 as per the 7 pm provisional report on Saturday.

The new phase of universalization of Covid19 vaccination commenced from June 21.

More than 57.36 lakh (57,36,924) vaccine doses have been administered on Saturday, as per the 7 pm provisional report, the Union health ministry said.
