Assam reported 26 more Covid19 deaths and 2,289 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Wednesday evening said the cases were confirmed out of 1,01,729 tests.

The state’s overall Covid19 positivity percentage was 2.25% on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported 181 cases.

The state’s Covid19 recovery rate stood at 94.64%.

On Tuesday, Assam reported a total of 2,433 positive cases while 34 people died of the infection.
The state’s overall positivity percentage was 2.43% on Tuesday.
The new cases were registered out of 1,00,262 tests.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district reported 203 cases on Tuesday.
The state’s recovery rate stood at 94.45%.
Meanwhile, India reported 43,733 new Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours.
India’s active caseload declined to 4,59,920 on Wednesday and the active cases constitute 1.5% of the total cases.
The total recoveries stands at 2,97,99,534 across the country so far.
A total of 47,240 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate in the country increased to 97.18% on Wednesday.
