Assam has reported two more Covid19 deaths on Wednesday, taking the state’s death toll to 983.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 status said: “Deeply saddened by the demise of two #COVID patients today.

The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Tunna Raut of Jorhat district and 50-year-old Trailukya Ray of Goalpara district.

“Condolences and prayers! Om Shanti,” Sarma tweeted.

Assam so far has registered overall 2,12,998 Covid19 positive cases.

On Tuesday, the state recorded no Covid19 death.

On Tuesday, Assam reported 222 new Covid19 positive cases including 85 Kamrup Metro district out of 2,08,528 tests.

Assam’s positivity rate stood at 0.74% till Tuesday.

So far a total of 2,08,528 people have recovered from the disease in Assam.

With the death of two more positive cases, Assam currently has 3,484 active Covid19 cases.
