Assam: Police seize arms cache, detain three in Diphu Manipur: Security forces recover arms cache in raids on militant hideouts

Guwahati: A team comprising Assam Police and CRPF personnel recovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition in Diphu, Karbi Anglong district.

The seized cache included an AK-47 assault rifle, three 0.32 mm pistols, magazines with live rounds, and hand grenades.

Three individuals, identified as Nijesh Langthasa, Manik Haflongbar, and Kumud alias Rothai Phonglo, were detained in connection with the seizure.

Based on information and confessions obtained from the detainees, a further operation by Dhansiri Police led to the recovery of an additional handmade pistol.

Police are currently interrogating the detained individuals to gather further information and investigate the source and purpose of the weapons.
