One more COVID19 positive patient died in North Lakhimpur on Saturday, taking Lakhimpur’s district’s fatality to 4.

The COVID19 infected patient has been identified as 60-year-old Mahaveer Prasad Sharma.

He was a resident of Thakurbari SB Road in North Lakhimpur town.

According to sources, the person was admitted to the North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital with COVID19 symptoms two days back and tested positive for the virus.

This is the fourth COVID19 fatality in Lakhimpur district, sources said.

However, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who every day declares the list of COVID19 deaths on his Twitter handle, is yet to confirm the demise of Mahaveer Prasad Sharma as a COVID19 death.

Till September 11, the COVID19 death toll in Assam stood at 430.

Assam so far has registered a total of 1,38,339 COVID19 positive cases.
