The Mangaldai Sports Association (MSA), a premier sports organizing body of Assam’s Darrang district, is going to organize its inter-club Super Division Football League from Friday in the Mangaldai Vidyapith playground.

Due some ongoing field development works in its regular playground, Mangaldai Stadium, the Mangaldai Sports Association has decided to hold the event in Mangaldai Vidyapith playground. This was stated by Bipul Kr Sarma, football secretary of the sports association.

The champion of the tournament for the first time will receive Dr Revati Mohan Bordoloi memorial trophy.

A total of eight football clubs have confirmed their participation.

Till last year, the trophy for the champion team was named after late Dr Latifuddin Ahmed, but due to technical reasons, the name of the trophy has to be changed, MSA sources added.

In the inaugural match to be held on Friday, the defending champion, Kehutoli Bangrim, will take on Blue Bird.

The football secretary of the sports association, Sarma also announced the schedule of its ‘A’ Division football league, which will start on August 26 next.

The ‘A’ Division league will also feature eight clubs, informed the organizers.
