The Tangla English Medium High School emerged as the champion in the 3rd Champak Rai Baruah Memorial U-16 Inter-school Cricket Tournament after winning the final match played at Tangla Higher Secondary School playground at Tangla in Udalguri district on Friday.

The 3rd Champak Rai Baruah Memorial U-16 Inter-school Cricket Tournament was organized by the Bhergaon Sub-division administration.

The final match of the tournament was played between Tangla English Medium High School (TEMHS) and Tangla Model High School where the former won the match by 73 runs and lifted the champion’s trophy.

The Tangla English Medium High School team scored 146 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs while Tangla Model High School were able to score only 91 runs in 14 overs.

The 3rd Champak Rai Baruah Memorial U-16 Inter-school Cricket Tournament was inaugurated by the Bhergaon Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), D Hazarika and Udalguri Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Anupam Chowdhury.

The champion and runners-up team were presented with cash prizes by Trailokya Kumar Baruah and Bipul Deka.

While Sauranga Boro of Tangla English Medium High School was adjudged as the ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Best Bowler’, Remengu Digal was adjudged as the ‘Best Batsman’ and ‘Man of the Tournament’.
