A 10-day farmers’ training programme organized by Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science under Assam Agricultural University at Joyhing in North Lakhimpur district of Assam concluded successfully on Wednesday.
The 10 days farmers’ training programme on ‘Scientific animal husbandry practices for rural economic upliftment’ was organized in collaboration with Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) with the support of HDFC.
The programme was inaugurated on September 24 last by Dr Uma Ram Tamuli, Associate Dean, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science in presence of Dr Sanjib Khargharia, organizing secretary of the programme and Kamal Das, coordinator, IGSSS.
A total of 20 trainees were given training on the different aspects of scientific animal husbandry practices by the various faculty members cum experts of Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science.
Farm practical was essential part of the training programme as the trainees were given exposure to different aspects of management of cattle, goat, poultry and pig farms.
The programme ended on Wednesday with the valedictory function in presence of Dr Uma Ram Tamuli, associate dean, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science; Dharani Payeng, assistant manager, IGSSS, Lakhimpur and faculty members of Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science.
The trainees were given certificate of participation.
The programme ended with vote of thanks from Dr K Baruah, TA, Department of LPM, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science.
