Kapil Boruah, a school teacher of Assam’s Lakhimpur has secured a place in several books of records for making a portrait of legendary Assamese singer Bhupen Hazarika with iron nails.

The International Book of Records, India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records have recognized his unique work.

Boruah hails from Chungapara village in Panigaon in Lakhimpur district and is a teacher in the Alichiga Khabali LP School.

He made the portrait of the music maestro by hammering 12181 iron nails on a 10,800 square cm plywood sheet.

“I began to work on the portrait on November 5, the death anniversary of the Bhupen Hazaria and completed it in twelve days,” said Borua.
