Bollywwod actress Karisma Kapoor walked the ramp donning mekhela chador designed by Assam’s Sanjukta Dutta at Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week 2019 in Delhi on Thursday.
Noted designer from Assam Sanjukta Dutta showcased her new collection ‘Morom’ (which means ‘love’ in Assamese). Inspired by butterflies and flowers, it encapsulated the essence of Assam, reports Indian Express.

The Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week 2019, which began on March 13 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital, has been underway and many designers including Rahul Mishra, Samant Chauhan, Rina Dhaka, and Shalini James have presented their collections.
On the second day of the fashion show, designer Sanjukta Dutta presented her new collection ‘Morom’.
In her collection, the Assam designer presented a mixture of ethnic and Indo-western sensibilities which included a wide range of jumpsuits, mekhela chador, skirts and crop tops.

It has been reported that Dutta’s primary colours in her collection were black, white and beige and was marked by floral motifs.
Walking the ramp wearing mekhela chador, beautifully designed designer Dutta, actress Karisma drew the attention of the audience.
Karisma wore a black mekhla chador with embroidered border in white, gold and red.
Teamed with a matching blouse, the audience liked Karisma’s look which was rounded out with her hair tied neatly in a bun, pink lipstick and lovely golden earrings.
Sanjukta Dutta, who has already been able to establish herself as a national figure in the fashion industry, always tries to tell a story through her designs.
