Bollywood actor Tabu walked the ramp as the showstopper at the LM India Fashion Week in Assam’s celebrated fashion designer Sanjukta Dutta’s designs.
The LM India Fashion Week was hosted by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in New Delhi on Friday.
This is not the first time a Bollywood actress has worn her designs. In the past, actresses Dia Mirza, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Zarine Khan also worn her beautiful designs.
She showcased her collection Abor, on day five of the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, which is dedicated to the strong and determined women weavers of Assam.
Fashion Designer Sanjukta Dutta is known for her fashionable and exquisite range of customized and hand-crafted Assamese mekhela chador, with different varieties of coloured silk threads.
She started her brand in 2012 and it has been steadily gaining popularity. She also designed a special Muga Angavastram for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Will and Kate when they visited Assam, in the past. She hopes to highlight the textiles and handlooms of Assam and give recognition to the immense wealth the state has to offer in terms of textiles.
She also recently collaborated with Yash Raj Films to design the logo of the film Sui Dhaaga, which is dedicated to the craftsmen of India starring actors Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma.
