Amid the speculataions over publication of final National Register of Citizens (NRC) on Saturday next, Hojai district administration has intensified their awareness meetings regarding NRC in the district.

As per information from district administration, the awareness meet are organized in the different places of Hojai Circle, Doboka Circle and Lanka Circle from August 27 to 29.
On Wednesday, a meeting was held in presence of deputy commissioner Tanmoy Pratim Borgohain, superintend pf police Ankur Jain and Daboka circle officer Ansuya Sarma at Doboka circle’s Murajhar High Secondary School in Murajhar, Doboka Higher Secondary School in Doboka and Rabindra Bidyamondir High School in Jamnamukh.
Addressing the public at all the venues, deputy commissioner Tanmoy Pratim Borgohain and superintendent of police Ankur Jain requested the public not to pay attention to fake rumours related to NRC.
They said after the publication of final NRC no one is going to be declared foreigner, the left once has nothing to panic as they will get enough time to apply at Foreigners Tribunal.
They appealed the denizens of Hojai district to maintain peace and harmony as earlier.
On Tuesday the meeting was held in Hojai circle’s at Radhganagar Dayamaya High School in jugijaan and Purb Dhaniram Pathar G.P Office.
On Thursday the meeting will be held at Lanka Circle’ s Lanka High School in Lanka, Udali High School in Udali and Azad Hind Library in Lumding.
