Central Guwahati Police District SOG and a team from Noonmati Police on Thursday night arrested six people and recovered 6.29 grams of heroin, 15 stolen mobile phones, and cash.
Acting on secret information, a joint team of SOG and 152 BN G coy personnel led by the Noonmati police station OC carried out a search operation at the Housing colony in the Noonmati area of the city.

During the search operation, the police team apprehended Birgu Sing Bordoloi of Housing Colony and Hirakjyoti Nath, Nandangiri path under Dispur police station. One stolen Mobile handset was found on Birgu Sing Bordoloi.
Based on their confession, the team recovered another 10 Mobile handsets from Hanif Ali, Md Sirajul Islam and Md Suraj Jaman Sekh of the Patharquary Juripar area of the city.
After further integration of the main accused Birgu Singh Bordoloi, another four mobile handsets were recovered from the house of Alok Gogoi of Jorabat Ghanashyam Basti area.

During the thorough search at the house 6,29 grams of suspected heroin along with four stolen mobile handsets, cash amounting to Rs 38,020, two shop boxes, 10 plastic containers and one lighter were recovered.
