Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Friday congratulated Rima Das, Manju Borah and Bobby Sarma Baruah on getting Rajat KamalAwards in the 66th National Film Awards for 2018 and made the people of Assam really proud.

In a statement issued from Raj Bhavan, Governor Prof Mukhi said that directorial venture of the women directors is a clear indication of the State’s growing talents in film making.
It is worth mentioning that director Rima Das received Rajat Kamal for her film ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ as the best Assamese Film.

This is the Best Feature Film category in the language specified in the Schedule VIII of the Constitution.
Moreover, Manju Borah’s venture fetched Rajat Kamal in ‘The Land of Poison Women’ in The Best Pangchenpa Film.
Bobby Sarma Baruah bagged Rajat Kamal in Mishing for the Best Sherdukpan Film in the Best Feature Film in each of the languages other than those specified in Schedule VIII of the Constitution.
State chief minister SarbanandaSonowal also congratulated the Rajat Kamal awardees from the State in the 66th National Film Awards 2018.
Sonowal said that the feat of Rima Das, Manju Borah and Bobby Sarma Baruah who bagged Rajat Kamals is the testimony of Assam’s imposing journey in the field of film making.
He said that the achievement of the trio has made the people of Assam proud and will help to take the celluloid journey of the State altogether to a different height.
He also wished all success in their future ventures.
