Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi interacted with a group of 11 underprivileged children of Hare Krishna Pally Hindi Primary School, Bagdogra at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on Thursday.
The gesture was a noble way to pay tributes to the first Prime Minister of India Late Jawaharlal Nehru on his birthday which is celebrated as the Children’s day.
While interacting with the students, Governor Prof Mukhi advised them to inculcate the values of strong determination, will power, discipline and dedication.
He asked the children to imbibe positive thoughts which according to him would help them to reach the zenith of a successful life.
The Governor also said the children that in order to achieve big has to dream big.
He also said there is no short cut to success and no alternative to hard work.
Therefore, one must put in their best efforts to reach their destination, he said.
The Governor also presented the children with pen sets and chocolates.
The children were accompanied by members of the Rotary Club of Siliguri Metropolitan.
The Governor hailed their efforts for working for the development of the children and asked the members of the Rotary club to continue their service for the society.
