Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday extended his best wishes to the Indian cricket team in a catchy way as the team play against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Sarma, who is also the Badminton Association of India (BAI) president stated on his official Twitter handle that as the Indian cricket team was just ‘two steps away’ from winning the World Cup 2019, they should ‘go out with the faith that you have the blessings of 1.30 billion people.’

Sarma tweeted, “Just two steps away! #TeamIndia as you get into the semifinals of #CWC19 today, and hearts beat faster, go out with the faith that you have the blessings of 1.30 billion people. Do well. Make us proud.”

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first in the semi-final match.

Till the time of filing this report, New Zealand’s score was 162/4 in 41 overs.
