The police have arrested two drug peddlers, including a woman from Boushmari in Assam’s Dhubri district.

The police arrested the duo which conducting a checking on National Highway 31 at Boushmari.

The drug peddlers were reportedly carrying 3,100 Pyeevon Spash Plus capsules in a vehicle bearing the registration number AS 17 C 2571.

The police seized the contraband them from their possession.

One of the accused has been identified as Monser Ali, who hailed from Modhusoulmari Part II village under Gauripur Police Station.

A case has been registered against the duo.

In another raid, police recovered 106 Privon Spus Plus tablets and 84 strips of Spsphen capsules from the house of Mohammad Siddique Ali in Ironjhongla village located on the outskirts of Dhubri town.

The contraband was recovered from the possession of Ali’s wife, Asia Bibi.

A case has been registered against Asia Bibi.

Meanwhile, a police party from the Tamarhat Police Station raided a gambling site at Madhyapatla Part II village and arrested three gamblers.

The accused have been identified as Litan Ray (20), Dipak Das (26) and Ashok Choudhary (26).

They have been remanded to judicial custody.
